Beyond Symbolsim

After viewing the class annotations on David’s The Sabine Women, my focus did shift from the symbolic role of the woman to the physical role of the woman. Kiahini characterizes the women as “the voice of reason” and Denise characterizes the women as “active revolutionaries,” allowing me to reconsider my thoughts and opinions regarding David’s painting.
